We are thrilled to bring back our Young Yogis Service program. Young Yogis Service is a free Little Hands Can program taught by a certified children's yoga instructor and will combine the practice of mindfulness with a community service project. At this particular Young Yogis Service event we will be beginning with some mindfulness and yoga and end with painting kindness rocks that we will take home and spread around our neighborhoods.
**Please have your child bring a yoga mat (or towel) and a water bottle. Also please wear clothing that will allow you to sit on the floor and bend comfortably, but isn’t too precious to you since we will be painting during our kindness rock activity. Hope to see you there!

Friends of Trees is a nationally recognized leader in improving the urban tree canopy and restoring sensitive natural areas—through programs delivered by thousands of volunteers who gather to plant trees. We are excited to join Friends of Trees for their tree planting event on April 13th. Friends of Trees has asked that all volunteers register here.
Friends of Trees also asks that all volunteers please arrive by 8:30-8:45am to sign-in with their staff on site. The planting event will promptly start at 9:00am. They provide gloves, tools, and planting guidance, all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather, wearing sturdy shoes or boots, and be ready to have fun! More planting details including the meeting location for this planting event will be sent to registered volunteers via email.

We will decorate pillowcases for Operation Gratitude to support our service men and women. We will be using non-washable markers, such as Sharpies, to ensure the pillowcase designs do not wash out.

It’s an early school release for Springfield schools. Come down to the library to help decorate the diaper bin for the diaper drive. We will also make kindness- themed bookmarks. If you have any diapers to donate to the bin please bring them along as the bin will be there the rest of the month!

Please join Grassroots Garden on Saturday, December 9th at the Garden for their annual event, Carrot Harvest Day!
This event is always a wonderful close to the garden year, and a time when the friends and families of GrassRoots gather together to enjoy some friendly competition, good food, and connection. The event starts at 10:30 for mingling and selecting the best carrot pulling spot. At 11am sharp, everyone starts harvesting carrots, and searching for the biggest, longest and most unique. As the judges judge the entries, we’ll enjoy delicious carrot-ginger soup, carrot cake and hot chocolate as we review what we’ve accomplished in the year. All winners receive sweet and homey carrot related prizes! It’s fun for the whole family. We look forward to seeing you!
Please join us as we help Ronald McDonald House Charities in Springfield “Light the House!” We will be singing some carols to kick off the holiday season. There will be grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, a hot cocoa bar, delicious treats and good cheer!
If you are able, please bring a brand new stuffed animal to donate to RMHC. We will get to hold our stuffed animal donations during the carols before we gift them to this amazing organization. Hope to see you all there!

The Eugene Mission has almost 400 beds and we hope to have enough cards for each bed. Our event is running for 3 hours but feel free to drop in for just an hour . We hope each card we make will spread kindness and holiday cheer to those in need.

Join us back at Waterford Grand Assisted Living as we make no-sew blankets for Bags of Love. Bags of Love is a nonprofit that provides comfort items and necessities to children who are in crisis.

A HUGE thank you to Marley’s Monsters for donating all the fleece scraps we’ll be using for our tug toys!

Join Little Hands Can and our partner, City of Eugene Parks and Open Space, as we paint the dinosaur at Amazon Park from 10 am to noon on Saturday, July 29th. Please ensure you are wearing clothes that can get paint on them.
We will cap the event at 20 participants, so sign up before we fill up!
Come make treats and interactive toys for the rescue dogs at Northwest Dog Project. Kids should bring one parent, an old pair of jeans they don’t mind cutting up, and crayons/markers. The activities will take place outside so please come prepared for sun or colder weather. The treats will contain peanut butter; children can always work on other activities but those with severe allergies should take note. Please also note that for everyone’s safety, kids should not expect to be handling dogs during this event.
Event capped at 10 people. Guardians will sign a liability waiver with them to participate.

Little Hands Can is partnering with Cornerstone Community for a fun project on April 24th from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. Cornerstone Community will provide an art and craft out of recycled materials, and the Little Hands Can team will be reading books where you will learn more about recycling.
